Newport Fire Company was on location in the 6100 block of Hulmeville Road shortly after 1330hrs. While enroute to a cover assignment for Station 88, Engine 9 responded into the scene after a mayday was transmitted at the scene. All hands were in service with fire conditions in the basement. The mayday was cleared quickly by crews on scene and no injuries were reported to any firefighters. Engine 9's crew assisted with checking for extension as well as overhaul of the dwelling.

1838 hours, Engine 9 was dispatched on Tactical Box 21-8 for a reported garage on fire in the 800 block of Bellevue Avenue. Deputy 8 and Chief 21 arrived to report light smoke coming from the roof of a detached garage in the rear of the property.

Shortly after 0500hrs, Box 30-44 was transmitted for the 8800 block of New Falls Road at the Levittown Lanes. Deputy 30 arrived to find fire in the rear of the building with exposure issues. Engine 9 was transmitted on the second alarm.

Around 2115hrs, Tactical Box 9-22 was transmitted for the 900 block of Avenue F for a reported dwelling fire. 44PD arrived to find smoke coming from the residents. Engine 9 established a water supply and went in service with attack lines.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida moved through the Delaware Valley during the evening hours bringing torrential downpours and heavy flooding to much of the area. Numerous tornadoes were spotted over the region.

At around 1915hrs, the Bucks County 911 Center began to receive numerous calls reporting a tornado touching down along Street Rd near the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Old Lincoln Highway area. The first significant incident was for the Faulkner Auto Dealership along Street Rd.

At around 1215hrs, PFC was dispatched to a reported first due residential fire. Engine 9 arrived to find a secondary power line into the resident burned up near the roof line. Engine 244's crew assisted with checking for extension, but none found.

Shortly after 0300hrs, Engine 9 was added to Tactical Box 21-4, in the Old Mill Woods development to assist with a working dwelling fire. Chief 21 was on location with an attached garage with fire through the roof.

In the early morning hours, Tac 9 was dispatched on Tac Box 6-11. Chief 6 was on scene with a dwelling well involved. Crews encountered some tough conditions with working on a steep terrain as well as warm and humid weather.

At around 0845hrs, companies were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Maple Avenue for a report of smoke coming from a house. E244 dropped a supply line and pulled an attack line. E9 picked up the hydrant and sent it's crew up to the house while L8 performed ventilation.

Rescue Box 21-80 was dispatched shortly after 0800hrs for a reported single vehicle crash into the administration building at the Langhorne Gardens Nursing Home. An updated report indicated the crashed vehicle was now on fire, prompting an upgraded assignment.

Rescue Box 9-32 was dispatched to the northbound lanes of Route 1 near Fee Avenue. E244 arrived on location with an SUV against the guardrail and a Tractor Trailer with the occupant trapped. Rescue 9 arrived and assisted with the extrication and hazard control.

Shortly after 1800hrs, Tactical Box 8-1 was dispatched for a reported detached garage on fire in the 700 block of Neshaminy Street. L8 arrived with smoke showing and went in service with a handline. E7 established a water supply while E9, L65 and TW21 provided manpower.

E9 and E21 were dispatched to the northbound lanes of Route 1 near Fox Court for multiple reports of a vehicle fire. E9 arrived and went in service with a single line and was assisted by R9 and E21. Middletown PD shut down the lanes of traffic for a short period of time while crews worked.
