Working Attached Garage Fire

Shortly after 0300hrs, Engine 9 was added to Tactical Box 21-4, in the Old Mill Woods development to assist with a working dwelling fire. Chief 21 was on location with an attached garage with fire through the roof. Crews went in service with 2 handlines to contain the fire to the garage. Engine 9 assisted with manpower and overhaul. Crews from E80, Q73, TW21 and E22 were also on location. A line of heavy thunderstorms had moved through the area a few hours before. It is believed that a lightning strike may have caused the fire. The Middletown FMO is investigating the incident.

In the early morning hours, Tac 9 was dispatched on Tac Box 6-11. Chief 6 was on scene with a dwelling well involved. Crews encountered some tough conditions with working on a steep terrain as well as warm and humid weather.

Rescue Box 21-80 was dispatched shortly after 0800hrs for a reported single vehicle crash into the administration building at the Langhorne Gardens Nursing Home. An updated report indicated the crashed vehicle was now on fire, prompting an upgraded assignment.
