3rd Alarm Building Fire

Shortly after 0500hrs, Box 30-44 was transmitted for the 8800 block of New Falls Road at the Levittown Lanes. Deputy 30 arrived to find fire in the rear of the building with exposure issues. Engine 9 was transmitted on the second alarm. It's crew arrived to establish a water supply to Ladder 31 on Side C. After completing the lay out to New Falls Road, Engine 9 became part of an LDH relay from Engine 52-1, Engine 82 and Engine 98. Over 2,000 feet of LDH was dropped for this part of the water supply as was an additional lengthy line from the Hood Boulevard side. Engine 9's crew was on location for over 7 hours for the operation.

At 1600hrs, Rescue 9 was dispatched as the Rapid Intervention Team to the 200 block of Norsam Drive. Crews were on location with a working house fire and had multiple lines in service with fire from the rear of the house extending up and inside.

While covering for Station 21 for their banquet, PFC members staffed the station. As the detail began, a round of potentially severe storms were moving into the area. As the line of weather moved in, things picked up.

Engine 9 responded on Box 21-9 in the 100 block of North Bellevue Avenue in Langhorne Borough. Tower 21 arrived with smoke showing from a 1st floor apartment. Engine 9 arrived and deployed it's crew to assist with primary and secondary searches of the adjacent apartments.

Shortly after 1600hrs, companies were dispatched to the 100 block of Beechwood Avenue for a reported dwelling fire with an occupant still inside. Captain 9 and Special Service 244 arrived on location with light smoke showing from the front of the residence.

Shortly after 0300hrs, Rescue Box 21-295 was transmitted to the eastbound lanes of Int 295 near Exit 5. Rescue 8, Rescue 9, Engine 22 and Engine 77 were on scene for an extended period of time as the highway was shut down while the Pennsylvania State Police performed their investigation.

At around 2330hrs, Assistant 8 arrived on location with heavy fire showing from a 3 story dwelling in the 300 block of Hulmeville Avenue. Rescue 9 responded from a previous MVA on Route 1 and arrived behind Engine 9.

Just before 2300hrs, Rescue Box 9-31 was dispatched for the northbound lanes of Route 1 near Highland Avenue for a reported MVA with entrapment. Rescue 9 arrived on location with a 3 vehicle accident with one vehicle overturned.

Shortly after returning from another incident, Engine 9 responded to a reported truck fire in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Bristol Exit. Rescue 82 arrived with a tractor trailer well involved.

Rescue 9 was dispatched along with Medic 167 to the southbound lanes of Route 1 near the Our Lady of Grace Cemetary for a report of an accident with injuries. Rescue 9 arrived with 44PD to find a single vehicle MVA.

While staffed by a Thursday night duty crew, Rescue 9 responded with Station 21 to the northbound lanes of Route 1 in the area of Route 213 for a one vehicle MVA with injuries. Upon arrival, Engine 22 and Rescue 9's crew assisted with patient care and hazard control at the scene.

At approximately 2010hrs, Rescue Box 21-8 was transmitted for the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Park Avenue for a reported 2 vehicle MVA with one occupant trapped. Rescue 8 and Rescue 9's crews arrived and stabilized a pickup truck on it's side with one occupant still inside.

Shortly after 1830 hours, Rescue Box 9-32 was dispatched to the southbound lanes of Route 1 near Hulmeville Rd. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle MVA. Crews reported that the occupants were not trapped in the vehicle, however, one person was pronounced deceased on scene.
